The words scrawled in the 'Blah' bar on the front page are fleeting. And I like it that way, most of it being of little importance. But every now and then I say something so awesome that it needs to be recorded for future generations of reader. So this is the place for it, and any other pertinent information I care to divulge.

10/Jan/08 - The end of the beginning:

'...Mindle's a carpenter. Just like Jesus. If you believe in that sort of thing... carpentry. There are some who think that in the beginning there was only a tree, which exploded, and as it's fragments cooled they formed tables and the chairs that orbit them.'

That was my favourite bit of blahing from 2007; the big bang theory of carpentry. So, the first year of Inanimate Objectives is good and over. Well it wasn't a whole year, it started in March. But still; success! Well it's been mostly a personal success so far. I had been concentrating on filling the site with content and not to much on advertising it was there. So this year I have got to make more of an effort to actually get the site seen. There's enough to hook people now, and lots more to come. I think it's really developed well since it's beginnings; my style and skill evolving nicely. This is perhaps most evident on the first chapter of Sinister16, where I did a lot of experimenting with drawing and photoshopping, and the relationship between the two. This put me in good stead at the start of The Random, though there were still a few kinks to work out.
It's The Random that was really supposed to be the flagship of Inanimate Objectives. Although Mindle has his role as the figure head. Setting up a story, vague as it is, and introducing characters to an audience can be tricky sometimes. But I think it went quite well. There was a few to many gay jokes for my liking. I don't like gay jokes, so I guess at least I got them out of the way early on. I can only hope the humour generally appeals to some kind of audience. I'm really writing for myself; things I would find funny and references I understand, and just hoping that others get it to. Like ending on a Serenity homage, and then ending some more with other film/tv references. I might make such references from time to time, especially towards nostalgic things from my youth I think. Just bare with me if you don't know what I'm on about, I'll get back to the story in a bit. Incidentally, in that last panel of the first season of The Random, I meant to have that girls' (who you will come to know as Meiko) arms up like Hiro from Heroes. But never mind.
Here's to the new year, and many more Sinisters and Randoms and Mindles to come, plus extra stuff like to fill at least one of the question monster spaces on the homepage.
